Proof: The New Science of Alcohol is a CBC documentary from The Nature of Things series, hosted by Anthony Morgan, that explores how recent scientific evidence challenges past beliefs about moderate drinking.
The film investigates this evolving science, looking at studies, the shift away from the old "J-curve" (where moderate drinkers seemed healthier), and the impact of alcohol on the brain and body, featuring researchers and even experiments with alcohol labels.
We created a graphic and motion design language built to make the science of alcohol tangible. Through bold typography, simplified anatomical forms, and flowing line work, the visuals translate invisible processes—circulation, neural signals, cause and effect—into clear, striking imagery.
A warm palette of ambers and golds echoes alcohol itself while grounding the series in a confident, contemporary scientific aesthetic.
We created a bold, typographic poster system built around weight, scale, and restraint. Oversized letterforms, tight framing, and a warm amber palette anchor the identity, echoing alcohol’s visual codes while asserting clarity and authority.
The design is direct and confident, letting typography and color carry the scientific tone without distraction.
